Friends for Survival is a national non-profit bereavement outreach organization available to those who are grieving a suicide death of family or friends.
We are a peer support program offering services since 1983. We are looking for qualified individuals to become part of our virtual support group facilitator teams. Each virtual meeting is managed by three persons.
Job Requirements:
- If you have been effected by a suicide death, you must be at least three years out from your loss.
- Have the technical skills to start a Zoom meeting and create break out rooms.
- Attend a three (3) hour training offered by Friends for Survival.
- Attend three (3) virtual meetings prior to facilitating a group so you can experience the atmosphere created at the meetings.
- Start all meetings on time and conduct all meetings in a professional manner.
- Submit your attendance report to Friends for Survival immediately after meeting conclusion.
- You may not use this position to promote your own business to attendees, staff or other volunteers.
In Return and in Consideration, Friends for Survival will:
- Schedule the virtual meeting in Zoom and provide you with a login.
- Provide monthly meeting topics and handouts.
- Provide you with a list of registrants on the morning of the meeting.
- Provide liability insurance coverage.
