Message from Board President, Mary Rossell

Dear Friends: As I continue my journey as the Executive Director of Friends for Survival, I’m filled with both gratitude and excitement. Our organization is critical to survivors and your continued support is essential to our mission.

As the holidays approach, let’s take a moment to reflect on the good in our lives. I’ve found gratitude to be a powerful tool for healing and hope. I invite you to use our annual Gratitude Wheel as a guide to mindfulness and appreciation during these upcoming busy and sometimes stressful months.

One thing I’m truly grateful for is our incredible team of facilitators, volunteers, and staff members. Their dedication and compassion make a profound difference in the lives of those who are grieving. Together, we’ve witnessed the need for our services.  We receive around 100 new requests each month for services and in 2024 over 2,100 friends will have participated in our support meetings and programs.

Your generous donations enable us to provide critical support, including meetings, writing circles, and our Down the Road program. By contributing, you’re helping to ensure that Friends for Survival remains a beacon of hope and healing for our community.
