Transparency you can see. Compassion you can feel.

We know "transparency" isn't the most exciting word in fundraising. It doesn't sparkle like "hope" or "healing." But it's one of the values we're proudest of.

We believe you should know where your donation goes, what our programs cost, and how your gift helps us provide accessible support to suicide loss survivors.

When you give to Friends for Survival, there are no surprises...just openness, accountability, and a commitment to using your gift wisely. Here you will see what it costs to mail a resource packet, host a support meeting, and create resources that reach suicide loss survivors around the world.

Come see what we do. Come see what it costs. Come see the difference your gift makes.

Finding Friends for Survival was a lifeline during the darkest time of my life. The support group gave me a safe place to share my grief with people who truly understood. I'm forever grateful for this community.

Sarah M., Mother

These are real costs.

See how your generosity helps make our work possible.

And the impact is bigger than the number.

A $20 Comfort Kit isn't just a box. It's a tangible reminder to someone grieving that they have not been forgotten.

A $630 meeting isn't just an expense. It's a room, virtual or otherwise, where someone can say, “This happened to me, too,” and be understood.

💙 That's what your gifts make possible. 💙

For our individual suicide loss survivors:

Information Packet

$ 10

A first step toward support.  A helpful packet of information that reminds someone they are not alone, offering guidance, comfort, and practical resources during one of life's most difficult journeys.

Comfort Kit aka Lilly Box

$ 20

A small "hug in the mail" sent to an individual after attending their first meeting.

Virtual peer support group

$ 630

This is the cost of one of our free virtual peer support meetings. Your support helps ensure that no one has to face suicide loss alone, or worry about the cost of finding connection and support.

Virtual peer support groups

$ 3,150

Helps provide one month of free virtual peer support meetings (five total).

These examples show what it costs to provide specific resources and services. This 2026/27 projected cost analysis relies significantly upon budget projections and other assumptions.. Your gift helps sustain the full range of our work.

The Lilly Box arrived when I needed it most. Knowing that others cared enough to create this comfort kit reminded me I wasn't alone. Each item brought a small moment of peace during an impossible time.

Behind Every Service

When you attend a support group, receive a resource, or reach out to Friends for Survival, you see the service. What you may not see is everything behind it.

Every service we provide requires people, time, technology, materials, communication, insurance, accounting, fundraising, and the many other day-to-day expenses of keeping a nonprofit organization running. These costs are not separate from our mission, they make our mission possible. Your gifts help sustain the people and infrastructure behind every service, so that when someone reaches out after a suicide loss, we are here to answer.

We believe in being good stewards of every dollar entrusted to us. We also believe in being honest about what it takes to do this work well.
